HLENGIWE Ntombela, popularly known as HLE, says Christianity isn’t about going to church but believing in the power of God.
The 32-year-old former Joyous Celebrations member told Daily Sun that many people realise that Christianity is not about the building but their relationship with God.
HLE will be hosting the Thank God Fest in January.
The You Are Hitmaker said the family-friendly music, food, and fashion fiesta will have attendees soak up the good vibes while enjoying.
“We will be straight from the festive, and after everything that people go through, this fest is to thank God and also to start a new year with thanksgiving,” she said.
HLE said the event started after the lockdown.

“This was inspired by what I was going through and after our first one, people started requesting us to do another one. Some were saying we should do it monthly, but that was not financially possible,” she said.
She said they look forward to hosting everyone.
“This event isn’t just for Christians but anyone who wants a moment to themselves. It won’t be about performing but getting in touch with their emotions,” HLE said.
She said she is beyond excited to return the festival for another round of joy and celebration.
“Our team is dedicated to creating an unforgettable day of worship and fun. The spirit of God will undoubtedly be felt as we give thanks for the blessing of being here and a chance to start the New Year with His voice guiding us,” she said.
The event’s line-up includes Nqubeko Mbatha, Mnqobi Nxumalo, Oncemore Six, and Gugu Ntombela, and the featured artist is Lwazi Khumalo.
