AFRO pop and Afro house musician Mthandazo Gatya said working with American music superstar John Legend was a dream come true.

He described the year as lovely and with opportunities.

The 32-year-old musician said he worked with the American artist in his song Nervous and Black Coffee was also featured in the song.

“Working with him is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one thing you would love to hold dearly. But more than anything is just proof that all things are possible with God and it doesn’t matter what your background looks like,” he said.

He said as a kid he never imagined working with such a big artist like John Legend.

According to Mthandazo, God is behind everything he is doing.

He said he started recording in 2009 and only got a breakthrough in 2020 with his song Senzeni.

“The most important thing for me is to touch lives through the music.

“People are receiving the message and love what they are hearing,” he said.

The singer, song writer and performing artist from Joburg said during the Easter holidays next year, he will fill up a stadium in the Eastern Cape and wants it to be a surprise.

He said performing alongside John Legend, he was nervous although it was an exciting moment.

“I am still learning more in music and growing. It’s important to believe in the power of your dream,” he said.

Mthandazo started a juice brand in 2018 called JuiSic Beverages.

In 2021, he released an album called Umonde with six songs and Journey To Infinite with seven songs this year.

He is busy with another project that will be released next year and wants it to be a surprise package for his fans.

“Challenges must not stop you to embrace your moments,” said Mthandazo.

Mthandazo will tour America and the United kingdom next year.
