HE apparently failed to sell tickets for his one-man show and as a result he had to cancel it.

But in a video clip, Heavy K blamed the bad weather and said: “I’ve been here since Friday, as you know that we were supposed to have Heavy K live in concert, but due to unfavourable weather conditions we had to postpone the show.

But I have good news for you. Since I’m already here, instead of going back home without performing I’ve decided to be live tonight at the same venue Notwane Lifestyle club. You guys must come through, it will be a free event.

It’s just to give you guys the gimmick of the show. It’s from me, from my heart to you, as you’d know that I’ve always had a rollercoaster relationship with Botswana. I’m trying by all means to make sure I perform before I leave the country. The new date for Heavy K live in concert will be announced.”

Heavy K’s one-man show was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 30 April at Notwane Lifestyle club.

The standard entry fee was set at R150 and VIP at R500.

He later performed for free on Sunday.

Daily Sun has reliably been informed that the real reason he cancelled his event is because tickets were not sold.

“There were about 10 big events in Botswana with amapiano artists headlining those events. As a result, people were not interested in Heavy K’s show. I strongly believe that tickets did not move and that forced him to cancel at the last minute,” said a source.

The source said the weather was bad but “it eventually stopped raining and events continued as planned”.

Daily Sun tried to reach out to Heavy K and denied allegations. In a brief response he said: "Its not true."
