FANS disagreed with Heavy-K when he claimed that they were sleeping on his talent on Sunday, 26 June.
This after the house music producer and DJ, whose real name is Mkhululi Siqula, said he felt like he isn’t appreciated by South Africans as they aren’t making noise about his new sound.
He said it is hurtful to release new music and not even be celebrated but they would rather ask him where he is.
He wrote: “One thing about South Africa! They will sleep on Heavy-K then ask what happened or where is he? That time I’ve currently got the number 1 song on radio right now.”
The musician was talking about his latest single, Phakeme featuring singer Ndoni.

He said he is not going to entertain negative feedback from people on Twitter, after they told him how come it became number on different digital music streaming platforms.
“All I’m saying is I’m always seeing people asking where am I? Or what happened to me? Even in interviews they ask the same question, even though I still have platinum selling singles, so my point is you can’t sleep on a person then ask bakuphi,” he said.
His fans disagreed with him as they shared that they always show love to his new sounds and he doesn’t notify them when he releases something.
“How come the song is number one on radio but people are sleeping on you? It doesn’t make sense. How did it get there, if it’s not the same people who got it there?” Bheka Kunene said.
Lesa Molapo said they don’t owe the musician anything as music lovers.
“Radio is dead. Maybe invest in better PR personnel to reach a wider better audience,” Tia Mokoka said.
