THERE’S more to Khaya Mthethwa than gospel music and he’s ready to show fans a different side of himself.
The Idols SA winner, pastor and TV presenter is joining Kaya 959 and for the first time, he will not be hosting a gospel show.
The 34-year-old said his new weekly show, On That Note, will officially start on Saturday, 2 July and airs from 9am to noon.
“I’ve always been big on not being boxed in as a gospel artist. I love music and love working with different artists, not only in the gospel fraternity. On That Note will showcase my musicality, which is way broader than the gospel genre. I’m excited about that.”
Khaya said he would tackle different topics each week.
“It will be an upbeat and positive show that’s high on music. We’ll have hip hop, R&B, soul, amapiano and more. We will be focusing on Mzansi sound,” he said.

“I’ll also speak to entrepreneurs and showcase what they are doing. We’ll have artists on and get to know them better.
He said he also wants to deal with mental health issues.
“I’m big on that and these are conversations that need to be had.”
Khaya said he will spend the first show to get to know listeners closer.
He left Metro FM in March and wasn’t expecting this new opportunity so soon.
“In fact, I was thinking of taking a break from radio but when this opportunity came, I couldn’t turn it down,” he said.
Recently, Khaya finished recording his new album, Art and Worship, which will be released in September,
