GOSPEL singer Fikile Mlomo is one of Mzansi’s talented musicians.

And with her great voice, she has managed to inspire and win the hearts of many music fans.

After using music to preach gospel over the years, she has now ventured into radio as a DJ.

She has joined new online station Dr Kay Online, that was founded by her pastor and Durban’s controversial inyanga, known as Dr Khehlelezi. The station was launched recently at Mzo Lifestyle in Verulam, KZN.

Fikile said it never crossed her mind that one day, she would work on radio until Dr Khehlelezi approached her.

“This new adventure is out of my comfort zone. All I’ve ever known is to compose songs and sing. I never thought that one day, I would be behind the microphone and hosting a show,” she said.

The station is based in Umhlanga, Durban, and Sandton in Joburg.

However, Fikile shared that she was up for the challenge.

“I’m a talkative person. I can talk for hours without being interrupted. But, talking to a friend and hosting a show are different. However, I enjoy facing a challenge.”

Dr Khehlelezi said he wanted to help young people realise their dreams.

“Even though I have Ngizwe Mchunu and Fikile as famous people on this station, my aim is to give a platform to young, aspiring radio DJs. This is also aimed at giving back to the community for its support,” he said.

He called for aspiring radio DJs to submit their applications.
