JOBURG-BASED Thabang Mnisi is the brains behind newly-launched Christian channel, Gospel Lifestyle TV.
He said the channel, that launched on 1 July, will have a variety of different shows, not only music and sermons but lifestyle shows such as reality shows, talk shows, documentaries, dramas and series in a gospel space.
Mnisi said the channel is available on Starsat channel 360, which has more than 20 million subscribers in Africa.
“I feel blessed and favoured that finally we have a channel that speaks to our culture and values,” he said.
“People should expect a refreshing and inspirational content that will uplift and revive souls. It’s about time we had a channel that will grow our relationship with God and expose new talents in our communities.”
He said gospel is a lifestyle and not only sermons and music, but going on holiday and leisure as well.
“For us, it was to create a medium that will make people enjoy life in Godly way.”
He said the channel is a dream come true. He is roping in interns who will be given opportunities to grow and experience production.
Mnisi described himself as a visionary individual in the gospel ministry, and said he has promoted many gospel artists.
“Being in the entertainment industry has been a joyful and painful ride, but it has made me grow and become the great man I am today. For me being in this industry is to see people’s gifts and talent grow and flourish.”
The former Hallelujah presenter on Moja Love is busy with the Lesotho Gospel Music Awards and creating Free State TV content.
