DJ Merlon is making it big.

DJ MERLON is joining Black Coffee in the international entertainment space.

The Koze Kuse hitmaker revealed to Daily Sun that he had been added to the line-up at one of the world’s leading nightclubs, Hï Ibiza, in Spain on Saturdays.

And Merlon said he was happy about the international gig.

“I’m joining a 2022 Hï Ibiza Black Coffee Saturday line-up, together with other legends from over the world. Hï Ibiza is the number-one club in the world, and brings me joy to have been able to reach such greater height at this stage. Black Coffee going international opened doors for us African DJs,” said Merlon, whose real name is Sibusiso Mhlongo.

He said he had waited for three years to release music while focusing on building his international brand.

“For the past three years, I didn’t release anything as I was focusing on building my brand internationally, trying to reach new heights. This year, I’m pleased to officially announce my next album.”

He said the 12-track album would be dropping in September.

“It features talented musicians including Mondli Ngcobo. Singles will start dropping from July. I also have a number of singles and collaborations internationally, with different Europe-based labels,” he said.

Merlon was reportedly depressed last year, apparently due to a lack of gigs amid Covid-19 lockdown regulations.

But he told Daily Sun that he was just frustrated.

“I’m in a well mental state now. Besides being an artist, I’m a businessman. But I’m not going to reveal the nature of businesses I’m involved in. I’m a good planner and I’m doing great,” he added.
