Gigi, who is a graduate of Wits University, said she had always wanted to help struggling students.
“Initially, I wanted to help one student but I have since realised many students are in need.
“Therefore, I no longer have a specific number to assist,” she said.
“Instead, I am fighting to raise a lot of money so I can help as many students as possible. So far, I have been joined by fellow colleagues who would like to remain anonymous for now.”
Gigi said her dream was to fund students from when they register until they graduate.
“But for now, it might not be sustainable. As a result, I am only giving them a head start. I am, therefore, calling on my colleagues in the art industry, private business and fellow South Africans to assist me in funding these students,” she said.
Gigi said in order to qualify, students must be going to a registered institution and studying scarce skills.
