WHAT was considered the biggest and most-anticipated festival has turned out to be chaotic.
The first day of the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival held on Saturday, 24 September, at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand, Joburg was filled with complaints from the attendees.
Musicians like Kabelo, Thebe, Nissi, Major League DJz and Burna Boy took the stage and kept the upset audience entertained.
People took to social media to share about how they struggled to get into the venue and waited for hours.
The audience in the VIP section said they could not hear the sound from the concert and the fest was hit by a fake ticket scandal.
Twitter user Khanya_C said they went home because the organisers ran out of tags.

“I’m going home. What a horrible experience. They ran out of tags but you need it to get access to the VIP or even get food or drink. Have been standing in line almost all day. 0 out of 10. #DStvDeliciousFestival2022,” they wrote.
Influencer and socialite, Tshepi Vundla said getting into the venue was a struggle,
“It was hell getting into #DStvDeliciousFest. I don’t know how the hell we going to leave here,” she wrote.
Another user, Shavhi1, said he had a bad experience.
“It was a horrible experience, I will never do it again. Disorganised and VIP section was a mess,” he wrote.
Then Johnny Malepa wrote: “DStv Delicious has always got it right, they failed this year, hopefully they improve on certain factors tomorrow and try to give us back the old DStv Delicious we know.”
MultiChoice has since released a statement apologising to people who’ve been complaining. They started by addressing the issue of fake tickets and said they were working on it.
“Attention #DStvDeliciousFestival2022 patrons! Due to the overwhelming number of fake tickets being used at the festival, the system has now been rebooted and we are working hard to get everyone inside as quickly as possible,” they wrote.

They later issued an apology.
“We are aware of the issues that have occurred today in and around the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. Our teams have been working to rectify this. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to festival attendees,” they wrote.
“Leading up to and during Day 1 we’ve had to deal with fake tickets which has had a knock-on-effect on our systems and processes which has resulted in us verifying each and every ticket. This in turn has caused a delay at our entrances. The management of the situation is ongoing,” they continued.
The second day for the festival is today, Sunday, 25 September. American superstars Angie Stone and Baby Face are set to perform.
