“This award for me shows that I am almost where I want to be. I feel almost accomplished. It’s still a long way to go, but I am happy and honoured to receive this award.”
When asked what her goal is, Manaka said: It’ a long story but to make it short, I think the end is where I feel relaxed in the film and TV space. However, this does not mean that I’ll stop acting. I’ll never stop acting. I’ll even act when I have grey hair. People are still going to see me.”
She said she is looking into directing.
“I want to start directing but haven’t been able to because acting is demanding. I want to tell a few stories myself as a director,” she said.
