ACTRESS and reality TV star Manaka Ranaka has won the Best Actress in a Soapie award at the South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas).

The Generations: The Legacy actress told SunBuzz that she feels she’s a step closer to where she pictures herself.

This is her third Safta in the same category.

“This award for me shows that I am almost where I want to be. I feel almost accomplished. It’s still a long way to go, but I am happy and honoured to receive this award.”

When asked what her goal is, Manaka said: It’ a long story but to make it short, I think the end is where I feel relaxed in the film and TV space. However, this does not mean that I’ll stop acting. I’ll never stop acting. I’ll even act when I have grey hair. People are still going to see me.”

She said she is looking into directing.

“I want to start directing but haven’t been able to because acting is demanding. I want to tell a few stories myself as a director,” she said.

Manaka welcomed her third baby last year and she said she has been trying to balance motherhood and acting.

“Luckily I still have the energy and most of my time has been spilt between working and being a mum,” she said.
