FORMER Skeem Saam actress Pearl Nikolic is rejoicing on her way to the top.

The actress just made it to the Mrs South Africa Top 30 finalists and she believes it’s all because of God.

Pearl (33), who’s also a pastor, said becoming a finalist in the pageant that focuses on mums and married women is a dream come true.

“I know for sure that this is the time for God to shine through this beautiful platform. I believe that if we have more godly leaders, influencers and inspiring individuals, our country and the world at large could be under great influence. My love for God is so expressive that I believe that it is important to acknowledge and openly express His loving kindness in each of our lives, especially in the entertainment industry.

“So, I just knew that this was something aligned to my faith and passion, so I had to yield to my spiritual calling to join the programme,” she said.

The actress is now working with a non-profit organisation (NPO) called Batho Le Kutlwano, which is centred on community upliftment as her passion project.

“I’m passionate about community leadership and services where I get involved with disadvantaged families. And providing relief for them in the form of non-perishable items and clothing, especially school uniforms, brings joy to me. Hence, I’m more involved in Batho Le Kutlwano,” Pearl said.

She said working with the NPO showed her that it would be beneficial to win the pageant because she’ll get to help more people.

“Winning Mrs SA would mean so much to me because as an up-and-upcoming minister of God, I want to be a good and true influence on a lot of our young girls and boys who need more godly role models, especially in the entertainment industry where every glitz seems to be all gold.

"As a relatable individual to many who also grew up in humble communities, it will be a testimony to many to know that God does favour those who seek Him,” Pearl said.
