ACTRESS Tebogo Thobejane was a victim of a drive-by shooting on Tuesday night, 17 October.

She was allegedly attacked by a hail of bullets while coming back from a night out with friends.

Tebogo (40), a businesswoman and club host, told Daily Sun that she thinks it was a hit meant for her.

“On Tuesday, I went out with friends for drinks in Sandton. When it was time to go home, I was with a waitress from a club I’d be hosting for. And as we were driving, I just heard a bullet from my side of the car, and it hit the girl in the back. She is still in hospital.

“My driver quickly drove off. I believe it was an assassination. I’ve been telling the whole country that there are people who are after me. That’s why I left the country for a bit. These people are out to get me,” she said.

Tebogo hadn’t been in the country for months because she claimed she was receiving death threats.

“I got threats before leaving the country. Since coming back, I hadn’t received any threats until this happened.

“I have an idea who’s behind this, but I will not mention their name. I previously filed a protection order against this person. But at the same time, there are so many things that could’ve led to this, so I’m not sure,” the actress said.

She said she was still in shock.

“I’m traumatised. I don’t know what to do right now. I’m still dealing with the shock,” she said.

Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said a case of attempted murder has been opened, and the cops were searching for the suspects.

“The complainant alleged that he went to pick up two people at a restaurant in Morningside on Tuesday, 17 October 2023, at approximately 22h30. While stationary at the robots at Corner Bryanston Drive and Wilton Drive, they were shot at by unknown suspects who were travelling in a VW Caddy.

“One of the occupants was hit by a bullet, and she was rushed to a nearby hospital. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage,” he said.
