"It's amazing how people spend their time in making other people's lives difficult by creating fake accounts. My name is being dragged daily through the mud on social media. I can't even defend myself. It's painful and upsetting," said Penny.

The 25-year-old from Durban, joined Gagasi FM during its annual programme changes early this year.

She said there are more than five fake accounts that were opened under his name on Facebook.

"When I joined the biggest commercial radio station, I didn't think that I'd suffer this way. People are pretending to be me. And they are talking all kinds of unacceptable things, especially on Facebook. This is torture. I used to believe that there was nothing such as bad publicity. But as I grow, I realise that image is everything. I realise how important protecting the brand is. But now I'm being let down by people that I expect to support me," said Penny.
