SHE always wanted to be a star and now she's living her dream.

Media personality and former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Thato Mokoena-Mthombeni, aka Thato Immaculate, has joined one of the country's biggest radio stations, Metro FM.

The station has launched a new show that focuses on music and urban lifestyle. Thato and Quinton "Naked DJ" Masina host it on Saturdays from 6 to 9pm.

The 29-year-old became famous during her time on Big Brother Mzansi.

She told Daily Sun that it has always been a dream to be on Metro FM.


"It was definitely always a dream. I started radio on campus in 2015, so it’s been a very long journey and it's something I've been working towards. So, it's like a dream come true," she said.

She said she's multi-talented just like Mzansi saw her on Big Brother.

"In 2022, I opened a dance studio, but right now I'm more focused on acting and radio," she said.

After Big Brother, Thato she landed a role in Mzansi Magic series, Magaeng and then The River.

She said performing on stage helped her to believe in herself.


"I started performing in school competitions in primary school and it gradually gave me more confidence," she said.


Although she became famous through a reality show, she has learnt to keep her life private.


"Fame has taught me to keep my private life private, to keep my private life private. Fame has taught me that hard work is better than popularity," she said.
