ENHLE Mlotshwa has left SA Fashion Week impressed.

The actress and fashion designer showcased her latest collection of Essie Apparel at the event held from Thursday, 20 October, to Saturday, 22 October, at the Mall of Africa in Midrand, Joburg.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Enhle said it was her second time at SA Fashion Week.

She said her first time led to her work being featured in Vogue Italy and winning her the International Fashion Award at Fashion Community Week, which took place in San Francisco in the US in March 2020.

Enhle said her new collection was inspired by colours used in traditional South African art and fashion.

“My line was inspired by our cultural colours.

“I played around with them so they wouldn’t look like South African cultural colours but more continental,” she said.

She said Essie Apparel was aimed at the new generation, which was proud of its heritage but also saw itself as made up of globally interconnected trendsetters.

The 34-year-old from Soweto said she was working on a big project.

She said she’d be revealing some details soon.
