Mzansi Magic’s eHostela has pulled a shocker, announcing it’s returning with a new cast.
The series is set to return for Season Three next month and has dumped the old cast including actors Thobani Nzuza, Dumisani Dlamini, Mduduzi Mabaso, Ernest Msibi, Khaya Dladla and more.
It has become an anthology series, where each new season of an existing show features different faces and new stories. The new cast is led by former Isibaya actor, Siyabonga Thwala and former Scandal! actor Gcina Nkosi.
The 13-episode Season 3 follows KaMabizela (Gcina), a widow out for vengeance, as she takes on ruthless gangster Ngwadi (Siyabonga), the man who betrayed and murdered her beloved husband, Mdletshe.
The season also stars award-winning Tony Kgoroge, as well as Xoli Zondi, Nkanyiso Mchunu and Mduduzi Nombela.

Director of local entertainment channels at M-Net Shirley Adonisi said the channel was excited about going the anthology genre route.
“As a channel, we pride ourselves in not only keeping up with global trends but in ensuring our impeccable storytelling is done in ways which entice and appeal to our loyal viewers,” she said.
“Taking on the anthology genre with some of our shows is informed by a combination of creative treatment mixed with trend analysis and research, as viewers are always looking for something new and fresh. With the amount of local content available on various platforms, it’s important to remain dynamic and relevant.”
The series returns under new production company, Rhythm World owned by Duma Ndlovu and Mandla KaNozulu.
eHostela returns on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) on Sunday, 3 July at 8pm.
