Durban July will be the honey where all the bees want to be on Saturday, 2 July, and DJ Tira has promised big entertainment at his marquee.

The popular Durban July, which will be held at Greyville Racecourse in Durban, will be the place to be. About 35 000 people are expected to attend.

Fashion, top-class marquees and live performances by top artists will be the order of the day in this year’s edition, themed “Show Me the Honey”.

DJ Tira told SunBuzz that it’s all systems go for his Afrotainment Durban July marquee at the Greyville Racecourse and the Fact Durban Rocks at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

“I promise people will get the best entertainment they were looking for, for a long time. Since the Covid-19 pandemic prevented us from doing such events, we will make sure that we pay for all the lost years with the best entertainment.

“I’m proud that my line-up for both Greyville and Moses Mabhida Stadium consists of the big guns in the entertainment industry and they will deliver the best,” he said.

DJ Tira added that his Afrotainment marquee will be top standard, and those who will attend will not be disappointed.

“We will make sure that we bring Miami entertainment’s standard to South Africa. People who attend my marquee will feel the Miami atmosphere in Greyville,” he said.

The Afrotainment marquee line-up will be: Dladla Mshunqisi, DJ Zinhle, DJ Tira, T-bo Touch, Daliwonga, Beast, Reece Madlisa and Zuma, Nomfundo Moh, Slender Da Dancing DJ, Q Twins and many more and it will be hosted by Somizi Mhlongo and Themba Broly.

There will be many marquees at the Durban July including the Jazz Town marquee which will be attended by Judith Sephuma, and Gaeitsiwe’s Free State Showcase Marquee, which will be attended by gospel star Tebogo Moloi and many more.

The Thekwini mayor Mxolisi Kaunda said the Durban July is expected to be attended by 35 000 people.

“We are happy that people will attend Durban July freely without being restricted by Covid-19 restrictions,” he said.
