The actor, who plays Dr Bhengu on the e.tv telenovela, said now that the show has been cancelled, he has gone back to his hustling ways.

After losing hope on acting before the medical drama gig, he ventured into Bolt business.

“I was hustling before Durban Gen called me. Now that we have lost our jobs, I’ve gone back to my hustle,” said Thokozisa.

The 28-year-old from Pietermaritzburg, KZN, said it is important for every artist to have a side hustle.

“Things don’t always go according to one’s plans. This is art where nothing is guaranteed. So it’s important to have something to fall back on when things go south,” said Thokozisa.

He said being on Durban Gen taught him that giving up is not the option.

“Although I had lost all hope about my acting career after several failed audition, a new page was opened for me when I joined Durban Gen. I was taught that I mustn’t lose hope on my dreams. I’m sure something will come up,” added Thokozisa.
