LOCAL footwear brand Drip has partnered with Italian global brand FILA for an iconic limited edition collection.
Celebrating their unique heritage that birthed leaders in trend-setting, FILA and Drip have collaborated to create three fashion drops that were produced, designed and inspired by Drip’s signature bold designs, together with FILA’s dedication to basketball and other sport.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Drip founder and director Lekau Sehoana shared that this collaboration happened when he was introduced last year to the heads, and that is how they hit off.
“I was introduced to the heads of FILA RSA last year and we immediately hit it off. We spent hours just sharing stories and experiences and we just knew that we wanted to work on something together.

“After putting our teams together and discussing all the possibilities we decided on a shoe and apparel collab that would elevate the Drip brand while leveraging the FILA brand and telling both brand stories at the same time,” he said.
Lekau said he collaborated with them because it is an international brand which has a lot of experience in the fashion industry, and it was a huge opportunity for him and his brand.
“There was a huge opportunity for us to learn from them while giving our customers some exciting new products and experiences. It was truly an inevitable collaboration,” he said.

The 33-year-old from Tembisa, Ekhuruleni said: “There isn’t a set period on our partnership. We’ve developed a limited edition capsule collection that will see different drops happening over the course of the next few weeks. We’re confident both Drip and FILA wearers will love it and we look forward to seeing them in it,” he added.
Lekau said buyers should expect great quality with an exciting twist from both brands.
