Afrotainment, one of the leading independent record labels, will release two collaborations for kwaito and hip hop on Friday.

Durban stars L’vovo Derrango and Big Nuz’s Danger have teamed up to release a joint album, Sgubhu Overdoze.

On the eight-track album, the two also collaborated with Mampintsha, Tipcee, Mlu, Joocy, Trademark, DJ Tira and Jaiva Zimnike, among others.

Meanwhile, KwaMashu-born hip hop stars Zakwe and Duncan have buried the hatchet and will release their joint hip hop album.

L’vovo and Danger’s album follows the successful release of their chart-topping debut single song Simnkantshubomvu, which became number one on Ukhozi FM’s top 20 and on other radio stations.

Getting warm welcome from their fans when they together at the live shows motivated them to decide to release a joint strictly kwaito album.

DJ Tira, whose real name is Mthokozisi Khathi, said: “I’m happy to see them teaming up to give their fans solid projects.

L’vovo and Danger have stayed true to the Durban kwaito sound. Their album will light up people’s playlists this festive season.

“Zakwe and Duncan will dominate the hip hop scene,” he said.

Meanwhile, Zakwe and Duncan have ironed out their differences.

Ama-Level, which started out as a single, became a full album and the stars are sharing what was going on in their lives during their separation and other stories. Both albums will be available on digital platforms on Friday, 4 December.
