KOKETSO Mathabathe, who’s better known as Kmat, enjoys seeing people dancing to her beats.
The 24-year-old believes it’s important to make a mark as an entertainer.
The musician from Soshanguve, Tshwane, told SunBuzz: “My grandfather inspired me a lot.
“He used to go to choir practice every Saturday and he would always take me with him.
“I too then joined the primary school choir, Sunday school choir then joined the high school choir as well as the youth choir at church.”
She said she started making music two years back.

“I started being a DJ about two and a half years ago. It was only last year, which was my second year in the industry, that I decided to produce an EP titled Luminous Flame.
“It was released in December and just shares a little bit of my taste with my fans.”
She said she worked with Felo le Tee, Keynote, Tabza Tee, 031choppa, Sino Msolo, Stompiiey and 2woshort.
“To be honest it was amazing, especially since it was my first time meeting and seeing these superstars.
“I was star-struck! But I enjoyed every minute of it, “DJ Kmat said.

She said the above-mentioned artists are the reason her EP was great.
“I am happy about this project as people love it. It is a project meant for amapiano fanatics because it has different sounds and different amapiano styles as well. So, it is a banger,” she said.
The musician said there is more coming from her.
“I have a song called Rekere that’s on Apple Music and Di Come Back ft 3Two1 and Luigi. These are my favourite songs ever,” she said.
She said she would like to work with DBN Gogo, Njelic, Kabza De SMall and Maphorisa, Nicky Summer and Focalistic.
