HLOSIWE "DJ Hlo" Mthalane is aiming for the stars.
The DJ from Durban, KZN rose to fame after her song Isibani surprised all by winning Ukhozi FM's 2021 Record of the Year and made history.
She has now been nominated in the Shining Star Africa Awards. These awards acknowledge and celebrate individuals and organisations that are contributing positively in various industries such art, science and entrepreneurs.
She told Daily Sun she is excited about the nomination.
"I am nominated under Best Star Club DJ of the Year category, and it’s a huge milestone for me. This nomination is a big deal for me and winning the award will be a cherry on top. This is a huge honour for me," she said.
"It brings me joy to know that my talent is being recognised and appreciated hence I am nominated. I look forward to continuing making my supporters happy through music in the near future. She said the entertainment industry has proved to be difficult but she is still standing.

"Our industry is not for the faint-hearted. It's not easy at all. Our industry is dynamic and forever changing. As a result, one needs to be flexible. For example, what makes waves today musically may not make waves tomorrow. So, as an artist, I always need to be ahead of the times to remain relevant," said DJ Hlo.
She said she is continuously researching new and emerging sounds.
“I am currently working on a new music which is set to be released soon. I am cooking something with one of the biggest musical groups in South Africa and I can guarantee that our offering will be loved by the masses. I am also the ambassador for LèMAZ wines and that has also been keeping me busy as we are set on entering international wine markets soon,” said DJ Hlo.
