MORE celebrities are coming forward to help victims of the KZN floods.
The latest celebrity to assist is Deli Malinga.
She started a campaign called Your Pain is Our Pain, and she’s appealing to fellow celebrities to donate clothes, food and any other items that may be of use.
Deli’s Instagram post reads: “We’re an NPO who started an operation *Your Pain Is Our Pain Campaign*, we’re working closely with the communities. We decided to intervene in the KZN situation for all human beings affected. We distributed the above letter yesterday, which was meant for colleagues and friends in the performing arts sector around Gauteng.
“When I started sending the letter to my WhatsApp contacts, it was very late because I’ve lost someone very close to my heart so I’m busy assisting with arrangements for her send-off. I later checked my messages before going to bed and your responses touched me. JHB, DBN, close friends, family, extended family, businesses, forums in the townships and everyone – thank you so much.

“Today I’m meeting with people I’ve approached for getting these things to Durban because they’re all going to one place where they will be distributed to different wards and municipalities. May God richly bless you.
“We didn’t put our banking details on purpose but if you need them, please call us on the numbers provided. There are those who specifically asked for them and now we’ll edit and add them.”
Deli joins the likes of Ayanda Ncwane, who visited her home village, Endwendwe, and donated blankets and water.
A relief fund, United Creatives of South Africa, which consists of local celebrities including Tbo Touch, Lekau Sehoana, Zakes Bantwini, DJ Tira and Nomcebo Zikode, aims to raise a minimum of R1 million.
South African-born actress Charlize Theron has also started an outreach project in an effort to assist KZN flood victims.
