THE family of singer Mlamli David Sellem has been found, thanks to Daily Sun.
This after his family saw his story, which was published on Thursday, 21 September with the headline: Singer desperately needs your HELP, and contacted Daily Sun.
Mlamli's aunt, Fezeka Magaqana also confirmed that he is sick and is in hospital.
“We want to set the record straight that Mlamli has a family in Cape Town. We are aware that he’s been living with friends in Johannesburg and is now really struggling. He needs us . . . his family.
"The problem is that he does not have money to come back home. His mother passed away and he is only left with two siblings who are also not working. Therefore, we are asking Good Samaritans to help us raise funds so he can come back home, then we can take care of him,” said.
She said she has been in constant contact with Mlamli.
“Unfortunately, he has lost his speech and it's difficult to hear what he says. I can confirm that his speech is completely lost, but his brain is still working. The only challenge is to move him from Johhanesburg to Cape Town. We will take him to a healthcare centre once he is here in Cape Town, where he will be taken care of,” said Fezeka.

Mlamli’s younger sister, Nonkululeko Magaqana disputed that they could not be located.
“Mlamli has a family. We are here for him and we knew he is sick. I’ve visited him twice in hospital,” said Nonkululeko.
“I can also confirm that I’ve been in contact with his doctor, physiotherapist and social workers. He is actually suffering from cerebellar disorder, meaning part of his brain is damaged. His doctors told me that it was triggered by an unknown poison and his speech was affected, but he is able to walk. I think someone is trying to benefit from this."
Nonkululeko said that they need help with money to transport Mlamli from Joburg to Cape Town so he can be with his family.
Donations can be made to Nonkululeko on 072 880 1243.
Fellow artist and a close friend, Thembinkosi "ChefKhumalo" Khumalo said: “We are also in contact with his family and we will help where possible.”
