UKHOZI FM content producer Ayanda Melansi has found herself greener pastures on Gagasi FM.

She's been announced as the new content specialist to replace Makhosi Khoza, who dumped the SABC radio station in December 2022.

Ayanda reported for duty on Monday, 3 April.

Alex Mthiyane, who is the head of audience experience, acted in the position until March 2023.

Ayanda started her radio career on Gagasi FM as an intern in 2006. She then became a journalist and ended up being a producer.

She told Daily Sun listeners of the Durban-based commercial radio station should expect the best on her return.

"I left Gagasi FM in 2011 when I was a producer for the current affairs show called Viewpoint, presented by Bukiwe Cimela, and now I’m coming back as a content specialist.

"I’m on the station to enhance the content and talent because Gagasi FM is not broken. If it is not broken, we don’t fix it but we enhance it," she said.

When she left Gagasi FM, she joined Classic FM as a senior journalist. She later became the head of news and left in 2018 to join Ukhozi FM as a content producer for primetime shows.

Ayanda said she gained a lot of experience on Ukhozi FM, which would help her deliver the best at her new job.

"The past five years on Ukhozi FM were amazing. I learnt so much and gained more experience and worked with amazing people.

"Now I move to another role which I’m optimistic will be an amazing journey too," she said.

Ayanda is preparing to develop her knowledge about radio as she will be a part of the international Visitors Leadership Programme to be held in Washington DC, USA from this month to May.

"I will fly to Washington on 21 April and be back on 15 May where I will meet the world and expect to sharpen my knowledge on radio journalism," she said.
