SIPHESIHLE Cele from reality showMnakwethu: Happily Ever After? is pleading with Thabisile Mkhize to come back and become a second wife to her husband, Gezani Dludla.

Thabisile (20) dumped Gezani after her mum and aunt told her they did not want her in a polygamous marriage.

Gezani (28) told Daily Sun the last time he spoke to Thabisile was in December.

“I dated her for a year. I wanted her to be my second wife and she had no problem with that,” he said.

“Our problems began when her family started interfering. They didn’t want her to marry me because I have a wife. I explained that it was my late brother who wanted a second wife. They were having none of it and she decided to listen her family. I still love her, but I won’t beg her,” he said.

Gezani said according to his culture, he needed to take a second wife because his late brother needed one.

“My role will merely be to look after her and fulfil my brother’s role as a husband,” he said.

Siphesihle (20) said she didn’t want anyone as a sister wife except Thabisile.

“She knew her place and respected me as the first wife. I am pleading with her to come back,” she said.

Cultural expert Nomagugu Ngobese said this was common. “Gezani will have to find a wife for his late brother and cannot escape this duty.”

Thabisile refused to comment.
