“SENZO’S mum knows I’m not the killer.”

This was said by music mogul Chicco Twala, talking about his visit to the late Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa’s home in Umlazi, KZN on Saturday, 12 November.

Twala said he doesn’t know what the fuss is about when he visits Senzo’s mum because this was not his first time

going there.

He said he has always been in contact with Senzo’s mum and there is no need for people to think there is something that is not normal about that.

He said when he and Senzo’s mum talk all the time, they don’t talk about the case or litigation.

“My relationship with Senzo’s mum has nothing to do with that,” he said.

Twala said they have been in contact ever since the incident happened.

“Even now I just spoke to her, she called me. We talk, me and Senzo’s mum in general, just like you and me are talking now,” he said.

He said he communicated with her all the time, just to give her support, just like everyone else does, and tells her justice will be served.

Twala said this when Daily Sun called to confirm if he had visited the Meyiwa home.

Twala said he believes that whoever killed Senzo will be caught, and they will serve their time.

“Let the law take its course. If it’s my son or Kelly Khumalo that killed Senzo, those people will serve time in jail. Like anyone else. I don’t care who it is,” he said.

Speaking about his son Longwe Twala, who is one of the people who were in the house when Meyiwa was shot, Twala said he will be called to testify.

He said his son just got back from rehab and is now in a better position to speak about what happened that night.

“Remember my son has been dealing with his drug addiction, but he is clean now.”

Twala also confirmed that he spoke to Colonel Bongani Gininda, the lead investigator in the Senzo Meyiwa murder.

“Gininda called me, looking for my son because at the time he was in rehab,” he said.

Speaking to the media, Senzo’s cousin Nomalanga Meyiwa confirmed that Twala did go to their home.

“Yes, Mr Twala came to our family home for a visit at the weekend to see our mother. Unfortunately, I don’t want to get into the details of the meeting because I was not there, but I can confirm he did come over for a visit,” she said.
