BRENDA Fassie’s ex-husband Nhlanhla Mbambo has died.
The news of his death was confirmed by his brother, Sbusiso Mbambo.
At the time of his death, Nhlanhla was 54 years old.
Sbusiso shared that Nhlanhla had been suffering from a prolonged illness and had taken a break from his work due to his health.
“He died yesterday after a long illness. At this stage I can't divulge much details except that we're deeply hurt and shocked by all of this. It was really not expected,” said Sbusiso.
He revealed that his brother complained of piles and stomach ache.
“We took him to hospital and he was admitted. Everything is still new and we haven’t decided on the day of the funeral or memorial service, but we will be communicating the details in due course,” he said.

He described his brother as a loving person who was cherished by many.
“Nhlanhla loved people and he was loved by everyone. This is a double sword for me because he was not just my brother, but he was my confidante. Now I’m the only son left and I can already feel his absence,” said Sbusiso.
His close friend, DJ Muntu sent his words of condolences to his family and said: “I worked with him and he used to be my manager. We then had our differences and he stopped managing me.
"Despite our differences, our friendship continued. I'm aware that he was sick and I'm also shocked and saddened by these news. I'll always remember him,” said Muntu.
Nhlanhla married Mzansi's iconic singer Brenda Fassie in 1989 and they divorced two years later.
