Multi-talented media personality and Daily Thetha presenter Pearl Shongwe has died. She was 35.
Daily Sun has been reliably informed by Pearl’s neighbours at Polofields, Waterfall in Midrand that she was found dead in her apartment.
It is not immediately clear what caused her death but police officers were still busy combing the scene in the afternoon on Tuesday, 8 November 2022.
According to a police officer attached to the Midrand police station, murder has been ruled out based on preliminary investigations.

According to her management’s website, Pearl started her media career in 2010 when she worked for youth radio station YFM as an entertainment reporter, alongside DJ Mo Flava.
She also worked SABC Sport as a reporter and voice artist and also presented news and current affairs on SABC TV.
Pearl’s face was also familiar with viewers of Morning Live on weekends and had a stint on Metro FM as a newsreader.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Noxolo Kweza had not responded to Daily Sun at the time of publishing.
Family spokesperson Khehla Tshabalala said, "It is with great sadness that the Shongwe family announces the untimely passing of our beloved daughter Ntombifuthi Pearl Shongwe. She passed away in her sleep."

"Our daughter was a celebrated radio broadcaster and TV presenter. Her presence will forever live on in our hearts. Further details will follow in due course", he said
