CONGRATULATIONS are in order for hip-hop artist Big Zulu and amahubo musician, Mbuso Khoza.
On Wednesday, 15 June, they were among the winners of the Pan South African Language Board Multilingualism Awards, held at Galleria in Sandton, Joburg.
In celebration of his award, Mbuso wrote on social media: “These belong to all of you ladies and gentlemen who know how much I love what I do – Ndabenhle Mfeka, Arts and Culture, uMlalazi Municipality, King Cetshwayo District Municipality, as well as Zululand and eThekwini municipalities for supporting this journey.”
He was nominated in the category for language and literature, while Big Zulu won in music for the effective use of his mother language.

He also took to his social media and posted: “Nkabi nation, thank you so much. I just received an award for rapping in my mother tongue. Without your support, I wouldn’t have received this award.”
His fans quickly took turns to celebrate his achievement.
Simphiwe Spopo Silinda wrote: “That’s awesome! Congratulations! We love you as your fans; keep on doing a good job and motivating others.”
Then Hector Nxumalo wrote: “Congratulations buti. May the Lord keep blessing you for the excellent work you are doing. It’s your gift from God, and no one can touch it.”
Pozisa Pozie commented: “Halala! Congratulations Nkabi nation uthando lunye. This calls for a celebration. Thank you Big Zulu, you never disappoint us. You always represent us everywhere.”
