SUSPENDED Ukhozi FM traffic presenter Ayanda Msweli has launched his own traffic podcast.
The podcast was launched on Monday, 17 October and it is called Khonamanjalo.
This podcast is focused on traffic news and updates.
The podcast follows the SABC unscheduling him.
BREAKING: The River loses three lead actors!
On Friday, 14 October Daily Sun reported that Ayanda was on suspension.
Sources had told Daily Sun that SABC was not happy about his private businesses as they felt he was using the SABC’s brand to promote them.
“Ukhozi management was not happy that he had businesses. They felt he was using the SABC brand to promote them, as a result they called a meeting but he refused to attend. He has continuously been invited to these meeting but he simply ignored them,” one source had said.
SABC had also confirmed that he has been unscheduled but they would not disclose reasons for this.
SABC spokeswoman Gugu Ntuli had said: “The SABC can confirm that Ayanda Msweli has not been dismissed, but has been unscheduled until further notice. As this is a matter between employer and employee, the SABC is not in a position to discuss the matter in the public domain.”
Two days later, Ayanda announced his podcast and his supporters couldn’t be happier.

The podcast is available every day between 6am and 7.30am and 4pm to 6pm.
“Actually this podcast is not new but I took a break for some time. I decided to relaunch it because people need to know what is happening on the road. I need to keep them updated despite being unscheduled. The reality is that, a huge number of people want to know what is happening on the road, so it’d be unfair and selfish to let my issues with the SABC affect such people. I also want to emphasise that my podcast has got nothing to do with my suspension on Ukhozi FM. It’s just a coincidence. At this stage I wouldn’t like to comment about Ukhozi FM and the suspension, but I respect them as my employers,” he said.
