Kamogelo Masoga is passionate about writing books.
KAMOGELO Masoga from Mmotwaneng Ga-Rakgwadi in Limpopo loves to tell stories.
The 25-year-old author has written her second book, titled Bastard Child, which will be published on Tuesday, 25 July.
The writer said her book is about a love affair that turns bitter.
"Bastard Child is a story about rejection, broken families and resilience. Keith, who has been disowned by both his mother and father, grows up in the care of his grandmother under harsh conditions. After his grandmother's unexpected death, the real horror begins," she said.

Kamogelo said Keith is a child who was rejected by his parents at birth.
"This story was inspired by children who were abandoned by their parents, children who were given up for adoption and kept wondering why their parents did not want them," she said.

Kamogelo published her first book, Chasing the Dream in 2020 and began writing Bastard Child in 2021, but had to stop along the way."My previous book didn't sell very well, and I felt like a failure. So, every now and then I've got this thought, what if this book doesn't sell either. But eventually, I took a leap of faith and kept writing, so I finished the book in 2023," she said.
Kamogelo said she started writing when she was at high school.
"My first work was published by FunDza Literacy in 2017, and in 2020 I published my first book, a collection of 10 short stories," Kamogelo said.
