AMAPIANO vocalist Thandeka "Mawhoo" Ngema is grateful to the people of Mzansi for supporting her.

The 29-year-old musician told Daily Sun that people have shown her love and she’s grateful.

The Sibane Sezwe hitmaker is known for collaborations with some of Mzansi's biggest musicians such as Vyno Miller, Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa and Felo Le Tee.

“I want to thank people for playing my music. Their support means a lot me, especially because I’m an independent artist who pushes herself. I came from a small town in KZN called Eshowe, and people see me as worthy of so much support. It really means a lot to me. And I know people expect a lot from me, so I'm pushing. I try to drop new music every three to six months to give people what they want from me. But I’m really grateful for the support,” Mawhoo said.

Mawhoo just released a new song titled Nduma Ndumane featuring Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa and Da Muziqal Chef.

“These words are used regularly in KZN. The song is about motivating people. As a person, you can be good and respectful, but not everyone will love you for that. Some people are jealouse. So just do you what you want, that’s what the song preaches,” she said.

The musician said that she enjoyed working with Kabza, Maphorisa and Muziqal Chef.

“Working with the guys was amazing. I really enjoyed working with them. And one of the things I appreciate about them is that when you work with them, it’s not just about music. They also teach you about the business side of things,” she said.

Mawhoo revealed that she’s also working on a new album that will drop in June or July 2023.

“I’ve already recorded a lot of songs for the project. And people can expect soulful music. The kind of music I make is always about the message, and there will be a lot of inspirational messages,” she said.

The song will drop on Wednesday, 26 April.
