POPULAR amapiano artist Luyanda “DJ Jaivane” Ndlovu is facing music of a different kind – completely out of his popular genre.
This after he and four other people were bust at the weekend after firing guns during the burial of late Hector “DJ Vintos” Buthelezi at Westpark Cemetery in Joburg.
The cops arrested five people for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as firing guns in public. Allegedly, one of them was a traffic officer.
The group was laying DJ Vintos to rest after he was shot and killed execution-style last Sunday in Orlando East, Soweto.

Firing of guns at funerals and cemeteries is not new in Mzansi. During Joburg Mayor Jolidee Matongo’s funeral in Finetown near Lenasia south of Joburg, guns were fired as the procession left for the graveside.
When Kebby Maphatsoe, the late leader of disbanded MKMVA was laid to rest at Westpark, shots also went off.
However, an elderly woman who lived in the area was hit on the leg by a stray bullet.
Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed five suspects were arrested at Westpark on Sunday, 20 March.
He said: “The suspects are facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as discharging a firearm in a public area. They are expected to appear in Brixton Magistrates Court soon.”
