LESLEY Musina has scored a new acting gig.

The Joburg-based actor told Daily Sun he has joined the third season of SABC2’s Giyani – Land of Blood, which starts on Monday, 6 February.

“I play the role of Solani Nghamula Khosa. He’s the new alpha, a hotshot lawyer and family man who has made it big in the city of gold. However, he decides to go home to Risinga to make Giyani great,” he said.

Lesley said his new job was a dream come true and he wanted to give a great performance.

The actor said he is super excited about this, and he’s ready to share more with his fans and supporters at home.

“I auditioned and had several callbacks. I was up against some great actors. When the call came that I was booked, I was elated,” he said.

Lesley said his agent told him to attend the auditions.

“Prior to that, I was encouraged by industry friends and colleagues who felt I fit the brief,” he said.

Lesley said viewers would love Solani as he was a hard-working man who wanted to shine. He said he felt at home on set as he had worked with a number of cast members in the past.

“Right now, the show is my main focus, but I will reprise one of the roles I played in the past on a popular show. There are plans for a second season,” he said.

Lesley said he hoped to get more lead roles after he wrapped up shooting.

“To my fans, I truly appreciate your unwavering support. I’ll keep acting on great and memorable shows,” he said.

Lesley said he read all the comments and messages of goodwill he received.

“Thank you so much for your love. It really keeps me going,” he said.

Lesley is best known for playing the role of Ndalamo on SABC2’s Muvhango.
