MUSICIAN and actor, Kwanda Mchunu, is having fun on the set of the series, The River.

The 33-year-old told Daily Sun: "My latest project is on The River as an informant for Bangizwe. I working together with Dumbeza," he said.

He said he joined the show last year and has been praised many times by his fans and supporters.

Kwanda said he is learning everything he needs for the role.

"It is soul satisfying and humbling to work with legends like Siyabonga Thwala and Bheki Mkhwane. It boosted my self-esteem and it showed me that I am on the right track from here moving forward," he said. 

He said he has been acting for five years.

"I started with local dramas. The productions I worked with posted their work on YouTube. Last year, I did a movie with Losi Films where I played a lawyer and it aired on e.TV's eKasi Our Stories. I also got a role on SABC1 where I played the main character Vusi on Fooled By Love ," he said.

Kwanda said he was excited about his role. 

"After The River I look forward to being featured and acting on more South African soapies and movies abroad," he said.

The actor said his message to young talents is that they must never give up without trying. "Wake up and show up even if you don’t feel like it. We don’t stop when we are tired. We stop when the mission is accomplished. Remember, persistent is key," he said.
