ACTOR Sydney Ramakuwela has returned to Muvhango.
This comes a year after he dumped the soapie when they reduced his contract from a global one to a call contract.
In June 2022, sources revealed to Daily Sun he left because he felt disrespected by the production company and knew they didn’t want him hence they changed his character.
However, all that is water under the bridge as Sydney has returned and has reprised his role as Mulalo from Friday, 5 January.
When Daily Sun called him for a comment, Sydney said he didn’t have much to say besides that he was happy.
“I’m happy. Everything is fine, and it’s good to be back,” he said.
The show's spokeswoman Ndumi Mdletshe said there were never any issues between Sydney and the production, and they were happy to have him back.
“We're unaware of any issues between him and the production team. Therefore, we can't comment on this,” she said.

When asked why they brought him back, Ndumi said: “The return of these much beloved and controversial characters, Matshidiso and Mulalo, aims to challenge the status quo, heightening the drama in the new season. We know whenever these two are in our world, there's chaos.
“They are forced to collaborate on getting themselves in positions of power at MMC, manipulating and betraying family and friends in the process. Unbeknownst to them, a surprise that will thwart their plans is looming.”
The soapie is making big changes for its 25th season. Another actor that’s returning is Buhle Samuels, who plays as Matshidiso on the show.
There are also new faces joining - a new family called the Netshitanganes.
Mudi Mudau is joining as Nkele Dikeledi Netshitangane. She’s set to make her debut on 19 January. Nkele is an alpha female, a top Limpopo businesswoman with ambitions to dominate the male-dominated construction industry.
Sinete Nemakonde will play Reneilwe “Rene” Netshitangane. Her character is Nkele’s daughter and will make her debut on 11 January.
Former Skeem Saam actor Aubrey Mmakola is also joining as Tshililo Netshitangane, a gentle but troubled soul who looks like a spoilt brat from afar.
Singer and actor Tshepo Mosese is returning to the small screen as a villain. His character Manditi is described as a ruthless man who stops at nothing to achieve his goals.
