AWARD-winning actor and musician Fanele ‘Zulu Black’ Zulu salutes the late Kwaito star Mduduzi ‘Mandoza’ Tshabalala.
He said he learned a lot of things by playing a supporting character in Nkalakatha: The Life of Mandoza biopic.
Fanele who played SB on the show said the life of Mandoza taught him to not judge people.
The biopic was recently aired on BET where Fanele played a member of Mandoza’s group, Chiskop as Sbusiso ‘SB’ Thenjekwayo while Mandoza was played by Wiseman Mncube.
The 27-year-old from Mandeni in KZN told Daily Sun he learned that all Mandoza wanted to do was to support his family and that there was no one to guide him at that time.
“Being in Mandoza's biopic made me realize that I didn’t know anything about Mandoza, but we had a perception about him.
“His life helped me to learn not to judge people based on what is happening on the streets, not knowing what led to that. I hold myself accountable to not judge people,” he said.
