MZANSI has a new political party.

Named the African Renaissance Unity Party, or ARU, it has been registered and will contest the 2019 national election.

The party said it aims to represent South Africans and communities under traditional leadership.

“The ARU undertakes to deal with the colonial syndrome which has been inflicting pain and suffering on our people,” read the statement.

“Successive governments have been dented by corruption, nepotism, incompetence, plundering of resources and the wealth of the country.”

The statement referred to King Mthimkhulu III as one of the leaders of the party.

Bryce Mthimkhulu, who has apparently given himself this title, has never received any official recognition.

In 2016 he was warned by the department of co-operative governance and traditional affairs, then president Jacob Zuma and Premier Willies Mchunu that he was violating the law.

The party said parliament had been turned into a wrestling ring by MPs.

“We never elected these MPs with such a mandate. They have proven to society that they are not statesmen, rather their actions are those of hooligans,” said the party.
