UKHOZI FM listener Ayanda Mdletshe is angry with the station.
The 24-year-old said he won the Castle Milk Stout competition in December, but never received his R5 000 prize money.
Ayanda told Daily Sun he even took the station to the Small Claims Court, but he still didn’t get the money. He said he decided to visit the studio on 4 January but wasn’t allowed inside without an appointment.
“They allowed me to talk to the officials inside though. They promised to pay me within three months,” he said.
But after three months, there was still no payment. Ayanda got a court date for 27 June but no one from the radio station pitched up.

“Instead, I received a WhatsApp message from them asking for my contact details again. They promised to pay me within 14 days, but it never happened. I have a project where I help unemployed youth enhance their talents. I was hoping to use the money to sustain that project,” he said.
SABC spokeswoman Gugu Ntuli said the broadcaster was aware of the complaint, but wasn’t responsible for distributing prizes.
Castle Milk Stout brand manager Khensani Mkhombo told the People’s Paper: “We’ve explained that his prize is on its way.
“We’ve sent it by courier.”
