Universal Music honored its artist this week, presenting them with their platinum and gold plates depending on how well they have done.
After a successful year the stable decided to honour their artist for their hard work.
Amongst those who were honored, rapper Cassper Nyovest was presented with platinum due to the 5.4 million live steams. The ceremony took place at the universal studios in Rosebank, Joburg and was attended most by the staff musicians.
The label decided to give all the musicians under their stable their honorary awards as they end 2019.
These are some of the artists who did well with their projects this year:
1. Rapper Tshego real name Tshegofatso Ketshabile was certified Gold for his album called Pink Panther. The musician had over 1.9 million views.
2. Rapper Cassper Nyovest whose real name Refiloe Phoolo was certified Platinum for his single titled Move For Me. The rapper had 5.4 million steams.
3. Deep house producer and DJ Da Capo whose real name Nicodimas Mogashoa his album Indigo Child was certified Platinum. The producer had 36.5 streams for this album.
4. DJ Mshega whose real name Linda Hlatshwayo was certified Gold for his 3 singles. The producer had over 5 million streams.
5. DJ Zinhle whose real name Zinhle Jiyane’s single titled Umlilo certified Multi-Platinum. The musician had 5.1 million streams.
6. House DJ De Mogul SA whose real name is Tshepo Rangaka’s single titled Ungowami certified Gold. The producer had over 1.2 million streams.
7. Afro-house singer Lady Zamar whose real name is Yamikani Janet Banda’s single titled This IS Love was certified Gold. The singer had over 8.5 million streams.
8. Rapper Tellaman whose real name Thelumusa Samuel Owen’s hit single titled Whipped, was certified Multi-Platinum. The rapper had 7.3 million streams.
9. Rapper Nasty C whose real name David Ngcobo’s single titled SMA was certified Multi-Platinum. The musician had over 22.2 million total streams.
10. Afro singer Kelly Khumalo’s single titled Jehova was certified Gold. The singer had 1.5 million total streams.
