THE West Rand Ministers Fraternal (WRMF) has recently called an urgent prayer meeting.

This for the victims affected by COVID-19.

Also known as the Assembly of Ministers, the WRMF held the workshop at the Lighthouse International Ministries in Kagiso, Jozi, last weekend.

The meeting was themed The Church Leadership is Taking Its Rightful Space.

Some of the matters discussed at the prayer session included Mzansi’s economic stability, prayer for President Cyril Ramaphosa and his government, and the recognition of Jerusalem.

Chairperson of the WRMF, Pastor Daniel Mogano, said churches needed to play a role in assisting the government and health department in the fight against the deadly COVID-19.

Said Mogano: “As the virus continues to spread across the world and public life is increasingly shut down, we can’t pretend nothing is happening.

“Churches are the communities’ epicentres of spiritual healing, and we see the need to urgently convene this prayer meeting and workshop to pray for those infected and their families.”

Mogano added the country was in technical recession.

“We see this as an economic attack on the president of our country and his government,” the pastor said.

“So, we’re praying for our president and his cabinet to be more focus on the job at hand and deliver good services to our people.”

The WRMF also prayed for pupils and educators.
