SASSY TV host Minnie Dlamini’s jewellery-maker Jenna Clifford is at loggerheads with ex-hubby and business partner, Dex Kotze.

This after his alleged inability to repay more than R1 million in advanced loans.

The battle stage was set in the South Gauteng High Court, Jozi, this week after Jenna filed papers through the company, Jenna Clifford Design (PTY).

The documents revealed Dex was given an advance payment by the company in 2002.

Read the papers, in part: “The defendant (Dex) and Ms Jenna Jayne Dawn Clifford were directors of the plaintiff on 28 January 1994. During or about 2002 and in Sandton the plaintiff’s board resolved to, from time-to-time, advance money to directors.“It was expressed alternatively tacit, alternatively implied term of the loans advanced and to be advanced to directors would be unsecured and would have no fixed-term for repayment and bear interest at a rate determined by the plaintiff and the board of director.

The top-notch designer is famous for sponsoring the Home Ground host with a wedding ring valued at more than R200 000. The papers also showed the moolah was to be repaid at 8% per annum until 2017.

“The defendant resigned as director on 20 June 2018 and, as of 30 April this year, the amount of R1 108 125.06 was owing by the defendant to the plaintiff arising from the money advanced to him, with interest.”

Also included in the court papers is Dex’s refusal to repay his debt.

Read the document, in part: “The whole cause of action arose within the jurisdiction of this honourable court. Notwithstanding demand, the defendant has refused to pay the money owing to the plaintiff.”

Both Jenna and Dex could not be reached for comment.
