HIP hop star Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye has put his tough past behind him.

But the repented rapper is embarking on a journey to teach others about the hard-learned lessons he’s learned.

Jub Jub will be teaching Mzansi about the power of forgiveness in a new TV show set to go on air in two weeks’ time.

And the Ndikhokhele hitmaker is set to host the production titled Uthando No Xolo on DStv channel, Moja Love.

Said Jub Jub: “When they came to talk to me about hosting the show, I considered many things and discovered that it was too close to home.”

The rapper said he had received many offers to host TV shows from other channels, but had turned them down.

“I took this one because for me it’s not about the TV show, but teaching people the meaning of forgiveness and to connect to people,” Jub Jub said.

“Before you ask for forgiveness, you need to know and understand the meaning of forgiveness. You must also forgive yourself for your sins before you can go and ask for forgiveness from the very person you might have wronged.”

He said the show taught people the value of being remorseful and saying sorry.

“I feel good about the show because I am living proof of redemption.”

According to the series producer, Mpho Lengane, Jub Jub was chosen because of his personal experiences with the law and forgiveness from the people he had wronged.

Said Mpho: “We wanted to show that whatever happens in life, forgiveness is the ultimate gift.

“Everything is possible with forgiveness. Going with him was the best thing because he can relate to the theme.”

She said Uthando No Xolo was aimed at the community.

“It relates to lovers, family members or friendship that have broken down.“

  • The show starts on Moja Love, channel 157, in two weeks’ time.
