Former Muvhango actor and Speak Out host Lesley Musina has survived a night of horror.

This after he was robbed at gunpoint.

Lesley, who used to play Ndalamo Mukwevho on the SABC2 soapie, was accosted by four armed men at the Total filling station on Beyers Naude in Windsor West, north of Joburg, on Thursday.

The star then took to social media to explain what had happened to him.

He claimed he was on his way from buying his son a chocolate at the garage when the incident occurred.

He wrote on Twitter that he had no choice, as he was avoiding long queues at the nearby Spar.

Lesley said the assailants made off with his cellphone.

Stated Lesley: “When I arrived at the garage, I left my son in the car watching cartoons on my other phone. When I came back from the garage shop to open my car, I heard a man’s voice yelling ‘lie down’.

“The next thing, I was manhandled. At first, I thought it was someone I knew pulling a prank on me.”

The actor said he then looked up and saw four men wearing hoodies and bandanas that covered the lower part of their faces.

“At that moment my son (4) was crying and screaming helplessly. Those thugs then fled,” he said.

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t see where the guys disappeared to.

“Despite some small trauma, we’re happy to have survived the ordeal unharmed.”

Lesley told Sunday Sun that he was more worried about his son who was left traumatised as he witnessed a bad experienced at an early age.

“I am now planning to take him to practitioners to counsel him,” he said.

Police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini confirmed that a case of armed robbery was opened.

He said no one has been arrested yet but investigations are underway.
