IT SEEMS DJ Euphonik will have the last laugh in the unending saga concerning Bonang “Queen B” Matheba’s book.
These were the concerned words of insiders, who said DJ Euphonik (real name Themba Nkosi) had successfully saved his brand from being “dragged through the mud”.
Two weeks ago, Sunday Sun reported that the DJ, together with Somizi “SomGAGA” Mhlongo, had legally manoeuvred to have their names removed from Queen B’s recalled biography.
Said the first source: “Why would she agree to remove Euphonik’s name if she knows the truth?
“It’s a known fact that they are exes. People would have wanted to read about the real reasons they didn’t work out. Besides, what on earth will she replace this juicy chapter with?”
According to the second source, the publisher Jacana Media had agreed to scratch Euphonik’s name out of the book.
This was after the DJ’s legal team had allegedly threatened to sue for defamation of character.
“Euphonik doesn’t play games, especially when it comes to his brand, the mole said.
“It’s clear Bonang knew she was fighting a losing battle, that’s why his name was dropped.”
But the third source insisted SomGAGA’s name might still be mentioned.
Claimed the mole: “There’s been no word from his side. So, it looks like readers will finally learn why there’s bad blood between Queen B and Somizi in the second edition.”
The fourth informant claimed distributors would stay away from Bonang’s book because of the potential cost implications that’d result in it being recalled again.
“To protect their reputation, most of them don’t want anything to do with the book,” the mole said.
When called for comment this week, Euphonik said: “Look, it’s a legal matter. Maybe you should ask Bonang. I just wanted my name out of it. That’s all. Bye.”
Bonang was not available for comment.
Her PR company’s spokesperson Sylvester Chauke confirmed the matter, saying: “ Bonang’s book will be published without Euphonik’s name.”
Jacana media could not be reached for comment at the time of going to print.
