IF YOU want to be given respect on the road, then you must drive a Mercedes-Benz.
This is what Kuoali Monaheng from Pimville in Soweto, told SunWheels.
“Mercedes-Benz cars are not for everyone. You must be a very cool individual to want to drive this car or any other Mercedes,” said Monaheng, who drives a 2015 model Mercedes- Benz GLA.
Q: Is it your first car?
A: It’s my third one.
Q: When did you buy it?
A: I bought it in 2015.
Q: Why do you love it so much?
A: I love it because it is classy and it is very beautiful.
Q: Tell us what you like about this car?
A: It is comfortable and balanced on the road. It is very easy to drive and good on fuel.
Q: Is it your dream car?
A: Most definitely, yes. I love it so much and I won’t change it. My wife Makarabo is also head over heels in love with it and pleaded with me to keep it. Even if I want to buy another car in the future, I must not consider selling this.
Q: Would you allow another person to drive it?
A: Yes. My wife off course.
Q: Have you driven long distance trips in it?
A: I have been to Durban and Lesotho border. But I often travel home in Dikgetlane, Matatiele. And it is very good and it has never given me any problems. It is highly suitable for moving on gravel roads.
Q: Tell us your choice of colour?
A: It is red and it was the colour I first saw it when I was searching for a car to buy on the internet. I wash it every time it gets dirty.
Q: How often do you get traffic fines?
A: I don’t have tickets.
Q: What do you think of other drivers?
A: We are all different. What I have realised is that most drivers on the road respect my car and in return I give them the very same respect.
