The Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) kicks off today and
will come to an end on March 17.
And like always GIMS always offers some exciting reveals. Here are 5 cars we are looking forward to seeing at this year’s show.
The Audi Q4 e-tron.
It’s the follow up to Audi’s e-tron, it is slightly smaller than the e-tron - It’s 4.6m vs the e-tron’s 4.9m. It packs a 225kW, 75kW less than the e-tron.
It will do the 0-100km/h dash in 6.3s, and it will manage a range of 450km, 50km more than the e-tron from the 82kWh battery.
Alfa Romeo Tonale
It’s the follow up to the Stelvio, it is smaller and looks better.
It will feature a plug-hybrid drivetrain, but Alfa promises it will be as good to drive, as it is to look at. Not many details on the drivetrain, but we are told that Quadrifoglio sporty versions will be offered.
Mazda CX-4
This is the Mazda SUV we’ve been waiting for. The car will slot in between the CX-3 and the CX-5. It will feature a coupish roof design and a more exciting driving experience than its siblings.
It will also be the second car to offer Mazda SkyActive-X engine which promises petrol power acceleration with diesel-like economy.
Honda e-Prototype
The small Honda hatchback with old school styling and future proof drivetrain is a Geneva favourite. With the electric motor driving the wheels and a range of 250km, we can’t wait to see these darting around city streets. And with already 15000 registering the interest with Honda for the car, we know it’s going to be a hit.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire
The black car like the car its paying homage will be a car that we’ll probably only see in pictures.
The one-off car will come with a price tag beating the build of former President Zuma’s Nkandla homestead.
The R270-million Bugatti is the stuff of dreams. It will feature Bugatti’s signature W16 engine with 1193kW.
