FORD has boosted the Figo line-up with a new range-topping version that offers loads of features but still at an affordable price.
The new Figo in Titanium trim is only available as a hatchback but with many added comfort, convenience and safety features.
The Figo is Ford’s entry in the value-for-money market, where its main rival is the popular VW Polo Vivo.
The newcomer complements the existing entry-level Ambiente and mid-series Trend models, along with the four-door sedan version in Ambiente or Trend.
Visually, the Figo Titanium is distinguished from the other models by means of 15-inch alloy wheels, chrome accents for the front foglamp settings and an eye-catching bright chrome finish surrounding the front grille.
On the inside there is a state-of-the-art multi- media system with a touchscreen display, which lets the driver control the sound, other media, climate control, smartphone connections and voice commands.
There are also two USB ports as well as Apple CarPlay or Google’s Android use. The screen displays the integrated rear view camera, which makes parking manoeuvres easy, even in the tightest of spaces.
MyKey is also added in the Titanium. This allows owners to inhibit younger drivers incoming phone calls, program top speed and the sound system’s maximum volume or disable the sound system altogether if the occupants are not using safety belts.
The top-of-the-line Figo also has sound system controls built in the steering wheel, electronic automatic climate control, automatic headlight activation, rain-sensing windscreen wipers as well as an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
Under the bonnet is the powerful new-generation 1,5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine.
Occupant safety is improved too with the range of dual-side and full-length curtain airbags. This is in addition to the front airbags that are standard across the range. Pricing for the Figo Titanium is R215 900.
